Security beefed up along Sino-Nepal border
Kathmandu, Mar 18: Close on the heels of protests in Tibetan capital Lhasa, security has been beefed up along the Nepal-China border.
Border areas in Sindhupalchowk and Morang districts are under vigil for last few days, with local authorities banning the movement of Tibetans.
The local administration has also banned the arrival and departure of Tibetans from the Tatopani checkpoint, while the Chinese police are allowing Nepali traders and shoppers to enter Khasa Bazaar only after a thorough check.
A security alert has also been issued to avert any untoward incident.
On Monday, Nepalese police detained around three-dozen Tibetans who were demonstrating in front of a UN office.
The Nepal Government has repeatedly clarified that it supports the 'one China' policy and that no anti-China activities will be allowed on Nepali soil, nepalnews. com reported. (ANI)
