Second Asian Athletics To Begin Today
Bhopal: T T Nagar Stadium is all set to host the 2nd Asian All-Star Athletics meet from today.
Speaking on this with the media persons on Wednesday, Athletics Federation of India (AFI) Secretary, Lalit Bhanot said, “Top athletes representing 25 nations will take part in the day long 2nd Asian All-Star Athletics competition which will be held tomorrow.”
He further disclosed that as per the rules of the championship, top five athletes in each discipline will be called to take part in the competition. The meet will feature 70 Indian players. The winners, in both the individual and team events, will be awarded with the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals.
Among those present at the occasion, were ex-runner P T Usha and Asian Athletics Federation Secretary, Morris Nicholas.
The events to be held during the day long programme are javeling throw (men), 400m hurdles (men), 800m (men and women), 100m (men and women), triple jump (men), high jump (men), 100m hurdles (women), discuss throw (women), 400m (women), shot put (men), 400m (men), 1500m (men), high jump (women), long jump (women), discus throw (men) and 5000m (women).
