Second agreement between Hollywood and Bollywood
According to reports, a formal agreement between Hollywood and the Indian film industry has been established in Los Angeles yesterday.
The two houses had joined hands to promote production, distribution, technology and content protection and to back the introduction of a Los Angeles-India Film Council to increase Indian film production in Los Angeles.
According to Rajiv Dalal, India head of the Motion Picture Association (MPA), the joint investment and co-productions will provide job opportunities to film industry workers of both countries.
The announcement of the agreement will help in drawing international production towards India.
Producer Bobby Bedi and Tamil producer and Film Federation of India president, L Suresh were the main representatives of Indian commission with some members from Reliance Big Entertainment and UTV Motion Pictures.
The forthcoming joint ventures between the two production houses include titles like Zokkomon and Dum Maro Dum.
Some of the latest joint ventures between two houses include Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge, Lahore, Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hain, Khichdi, We Are Family and Do Dooni Chaar.
This is the second agreement between Hollywood and Bollywood after launch of the Alliance Against Copyright Theft, which was made to protect Bollywood-Hollywood content in India.
