Satyam may announce large scale lay-offs next monthSatyam Computers is likely to terminate services of about 10,000 employees by next month. The IT giant has strong workforce of 53,000 employees and future of many of them is hanging in dark following revelation of largest ever corporate accounting fraud by its controversial head, Mr. R. Raju.

The company is having insufficient liquidity for salary payouts. Its salary outgo is around Rs 5 billion per month as per reports of The Economic Times. Satyam's interim CEO, Ram Mynampati admitted that company has no sufficient cash and that can create problem for workforce and management.

Meanwhile, many of Satyam's employees have started to find new employment options. They posted large number of resumes on various job sites till Tuesday evening. The IT sector is already facing the heat of global financial crisis and the companies are firing their existing work force to mitigate its impact.

The shares of Satyam declined 78 percent in the Wednesday trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange and closed at Rs 39.95. The stock declined further on Friday and ended below Rs 24. Government has removed the current Board of Directors due to fraud. The new Board members will be announced soon.
