Sanjay To Appear Before CBI Every Friday

Sanjay DuttMumbai: As directed by the Supreme Court, the bollywood star Sanjay Dutt will have to present himself before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today.

The apex court ordered that Sanjay Dutt and other convicts, discharged on financial guarantee (bail), must present themselves before the CBI bureau in Mumbai every Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The court has also directed Dutt and co-convicts to surrender before the designated Tada court upon receiving the certified copy of the trial court’s order.

The court has given bail to Sanjay and five other persons on the bases that they have not been supplied the certified copy of the judgment.

According to the sources, the Tada court had fixed up August 27 as the time for delivering certified copy of the judgment. However, the process is expected to be held up further and could even take a month’s time.

After getting a judgment copy, Sanjay will have to give up and then shift a fresh application for normal bail before the Supreme Court that may take up another two to three weeks time.
