Sanand land on a high

Sanand land on a high Since the point of time when the Chief Minister of Gujarat Narendra Modi sent an SMS to Ratan Tata to come to Gujarat and it make it the home for the small wonder - Tata Nano, the Sanand land has turned into gold. According to the estimates, after Tata's decided to shift to Gujarat, the land prices have gone up by almost 25 times and the farmers operating and living around the area are surely thanking their stars.

In fact, Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) has already started to acquire land and the farmers are being paid much higher than prevalent market prices. It is to be mentioned here that the state government had offered land to Tata at Rs 890 per sq metres two years ago.

According to a government official, out of the total 35,000 hectares state-wide, 9,000 hectares are government land while the remaining chunk will be bought by GIDC from the farmers. Even today, the current market price in the Sanand area is much higher as compared to the other regions nearby for example, Halol, Dehaj etc.
