Same spot, same story in Australia

Sydney  - A woman visiting a roadside shrine set up to mark the spot of a fatal hit-and-run accident in Australia was herself knocked down by a car that failed to stop, news reports from the Northern Territory town of Darwin said.

The accidents, which happened less than 24 hours apart, left a 15- year-old dead and a 30-year-old woman hospitalized.

Police have urged the drivers of the two vehicles to come forward and are urging mourners visiting the shrine to be wary of passing traffic. (dpa)
