Indian movie actor, Salman Khan has reportedly paid six times the market value for a flat in `The Address' building at Bandstand in Bandra (West) in the country's commercial capital, Mumbai. 'The Address is being developed by Samudra Developers Pvt Ltd of the Dheeraj Group and is located on Bullock Cart Road, Bandstand near the sprawling mansion of Shah Rukh Khan.

Mr. Khan has purchased a 1,079-square metre area on the 11th floor of the 28-storey building for a cool Rs 20 crore in the city. He has alsopaid a stamp duty of Rs 1. 64 crore for the flat. All this seems to be unreal and the actor might have paid the huge amount not just for the flat but for other built around it so as to join them together, according to an activist.

Former IPS officer and social activist Mr. YP Singh, an activist who was crucial in exposing the Adarsh Housing scam, said, "It comes to almost Rs1.80 lakh per square feet, against the market rate of Rs25,000 to Rs30,000. The amount is six times more when compared to the existing market rate. It is quite high. It must be a case of money laundering."

Singh says that the actor might be planning to amalgamate the flat after taking possession. He suspects that the two parking lots, lobby, swimming pool and the telephone area will be amalgamated. He believes that and the actual area will be about 3,000 square metre instead of 1,079 square metre.

He said that the additional floors violate many rule and regulations and must be immediately demolished.
