Salman Gets Bail in Chinkara Hunting Case

Jodhpur: Bollywood actor Salman Khan was granted bail by the Rajasthan High Court today, nearly a week after he was sent to prison house with regard to the Chinkara hunting case.

The court, while hearing the revision appeal together with bail application filed by the Salman, ordered his discharge on a security of Rs 1 lakh and a bond of Rs 50,000. The court fixed next date of hearing the revision plea on 24 October.

Salman Khan had been in jail for six days. He was arrested on Saturday August 25, a day after a lower court rejected his appeal against his 2006 conviction for killing the endangered animals in the western desert state of Rajasthan in 1998. The Jodhpur court had upheld the judgement of the local court and sentenced him for five years imprisonment on friday.
