Russian anti-fascist activist found dead after attack

Russian anti-fascist activist found dead after attackMoscow - A Russian anti-fascist activist was found dead in front of his apartment after an overnight attack that police suspect may have been politically motivated, the Interfax news agency reported Tuesday.

The 26-year-old, whose name was not released, was well-known in the anti-fascist scene and had organized punk concerts in Moscow in the past. He was stabbed in the stomach in a separate attack earlier this year.

Police said they had no suspects in the "execution." The victim was found with two gunshot wounds to the head.

Human rights groups say there have been more than 50 victims of deadly attacks by right-wing extremists this year alone. Anti-fascist groups complain that the extremists do not feel they are in danger of prosecution and are so confident that they will sometimes film their deadly attacks and post them online. (dpa)
