Rupee down 7 paise against dollar
There has been a drop of 7 paise in the rupee against the US dollar during early part of the trade at the Interbank Foreign Exchange today. The Indian currency was weighed down by rise in value of US dollar and on the other weak start by other stock exchanges.
But most of the forex traders were of the view that the falling Asian currencies and relatively poor performance of the stock markets was the major reason.
The same thing had happened on Thursday when the rupee dropped by 18 paise to be at 45.18/19.
The fall this time was due to many factors. One was that of weakening down of local shares and also because of the dollar inflow from the overseas markets.
The Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex went down by 127.61 points to be at 18,200.37 in early trade during the day.
Now, believe the experts that the rupee will go up but very slowly. But for that they need for the dollar inflow to happen in the market. They said that today, the rupee is going to trade between 45.00-45.35.
