Roo turns wine expert
London, Nov 13: England and Manchester United ace Wayne Rooney has turned into a wine expert, and is enthusiastically building his own wine cellar.
A snifter of Sauvignon blanc tops the English striker's lists of tipples, and for the expert advise on wines, Rooney is consulting none other than Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
For the twenty-two-year-old, a nip of bear is insufficient, according to a source close to Rooney.
"You'd think Wayne prefers a pint of fizzy lager, but a posh glass of wine with his dinner is what does it for him, " The Sun quoted a source at the club's Carrington training ground, as saying.
Thanks to Ferguson, who is an expert on fine wines, Rooney is not hesitant to admit his little knowledge about wines
"He'll be the first to admit he knows very little about wine, but Fergie (Ferguson) is showing him the ropes and recommending classy bottles of plonk, " the source said.
"But he winds Wayne up about not knowing the difference between a bottle of wine and a bottle of vinegar, " the source added.
Fergie has collected a variety of fine wines, including Burgundies, the wine produced in the France's Burgundy region, and clarets, the dry red wine produced in France's Bordeaux region, for years, besides trading expensive bottles of wine with ex-Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho. (ANI)
