Rock Band to feature Holiday Season

Rock-Band3Rock Band 3 is all set to launch itself in the US market in the coming holidays. Harmonix Music Systems which is the creator for the same has established that they are currently working on Rock Band 3, the new extension of their flagship music game franchise, and shall seek its release this holiday.

"Rock Band," is a game where the players perform all the rage songs with controllers resembling musical instruments, made its first appearance in November 2007. The second version was released in the next fall and the Beatles special edition hit stores last year in the month of September. Harmonix Music Systems has sold more than 13 million units to date.

However a dip in sales in the gaming industry was observed by 46 per cent estimated to be around $1.06 billon. It also affected Rock Band, causing a cut in the profits of Viacom Inc., its parent company.

In an official report, the developer says, "The game will be published by MTV Games and distributed by Electronic Arts."
