'Rock Band 2' Set For September Release

Harmonix Music Systems Inc, have decided to launch 'Rock Band 2' for the Xbox in September. This game is a sequel to last year's best-selling game, 'Rock Band', which allow players to simulate being in a rock band by playing musical instruments. 'Rock Band 2' is a joint venture of Harmonics Music Systems Inc, Electronic Arts Inc and MTV Games, a unit of Viacom Inc.

According to the makers, the new version would include more musical instruments, a new soundtrack and an online community, plus all musical instruments for the first 'Rock Band' will be compatible with 'Rock Band 2.'

The 'Rock Band' online store has already sold more than 15 million music downloads since its release last November. The makers of the game are inviting more peripheral makers to make instruments for them, so that they can provide the players with options to choose the insturments of their choice.

'Rock Band' is played by following the notes streamed on the television, while playing the music instruments, which includes a drum set, microphone, Guitar and Bass controllers.

Activision has scheduled the release of "Guitar Hero: World Tour" later during Christmas. They are the key rivals of 'Rock Band.'
