Robben set for Munich comeback from injury
Munich - Arjen Robben is set to return at Bayern Munich on the weekend, just two weeks after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery.
"Robben has returned very quickly. He has trained very intensely and will at least be on the (substitute's) bench," said Munich coach Louis van Gaal.
Munich play at SC Freiburg on Saturday, hoping for victory as they languish in eighth place, eight points shy of the the top occupied by Bayer Leverkusen and SV Hamburg.
The Dutch winger Robben damaged his knee in late September. He resumed training on Wednesday and is a key figure in Munich's comeback ambitions.
Compatriot team captain Mark van Bommel is set to return into the starting 11 from a longer absence. Luca Toni could also be a starter for the first time this season as Franck Ribery and Ivica Olic are out injured. (dpa)
