RIM publicises Pearl 9100In an official announcement Research In Motion has proclaimed the launch of the Blackberry Pearl 9100 which is posed to be an entry level 3G smartphone.

The candy bar imaged Blackberry Pearl is sleek in appearance, measuring only 50mm wide. It features a 3.2-megapixel camera with auto focus and flash, an in-built GPS, 802.11n Wi-Fi and 256MB internal storage that is complemented by 32GB additional storage via a microSD card, all in a 2.2-inch screen (400x360 pixels) with light sensing features.

The Canadian manufacturer has managed to launch Pearl 9100 in five different colours, sporting an optical touchpad, Blackberry OS v5.0 and a 624MHz processor.

RIM president and co-chief executive, Mike Lazaridis, added that this smartphone takes care of all the trendy needs doubling with performance and thus giving an ample market opportunity.
