Perth, August 25 : Muslims and Catholics have been enraged by explicit sex-education lessons in Western Australia schools, where girls as young as 14 are being made to roll condoms on to plastic penises.

Prominent WA Muslim imam Abdul Jalil Ahmad branded the lessons "pornography in the classroom''''.

Peter Rosengren, the Editor of the Catholic Church''s The Record newspaper, said that such a way of imparting sex education to school students was indicative of society''s over-sexualisation of children.

London, Aug 25 : An advertisement of children’s drink Orangina, which features animals wearing tiny bikinis and gyrate around poles has attracted criticism from viewers.

The Naturally Juicy advert, created by a French ad agency, has generated a wave of criticism since it hit British TV screens earlier this month, with viewers, children''s charities and equal rights groups up in arms over its sexual – and, some believe, sexist – content.

The 60 second advert that centres around a love story between a doe and a bear with a finale of shots of Orangina bottles exploding between the thighs of zebras and squirting on to the breasts of other animals were said to have proved particularly offensive.

London, Aug 25: A British journalist working with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) for the past 25 years has shocked many by saying that the Corporation must show the human side of the Taliban, who, she said, were a “very diverse group of people” and some of them would be wanting to talk to the British Government and not fight against British troops.

“It may sound odd but the humanity of the Taliban, because they are a wide, very diverse group of people,” she said while replying to a question as to what was missing in the media coverage, reported The Sun.

Tehran  - Iran warned the United States over interfering in the Caucasus crisis, ISNA news agency reported Monday.

"Powers outside the (Caucasus) region should not seek excuses for tensions and instability in the crisis area," ISNA quoted Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki as saying.

"Their destiny in the Caucasus would definitely not be different than the dilemma they have in other regions where they have already created a crisis," Mottaki added, referring to the US presence in Iraq and Afghanistan.

New York, Aug 25: The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the United States recruited a family of Swiss engineers to thwart an underground supply network of disgraced Pakistani nuclear scientist Abdul Qadeer Khan as well as thwart the Libyan and Iranian nuclear programmes.

The New York Times reported that the Swiss engineers, Friedrich Tinner and his two sons, were accused of having deep associations with Dr. Khan, acting as middlemen in his dealings with rogue nations seeking nuclear equipment and expertise.

Lahore, Aug 25: Contrary to the US and its allies’ belief that the international terror group Al Qaeda was being run on a network of wealthy financiers to fund their terror activities, it has been noted that Qaeda’s strategy had increasingly turned to local cells that run extremely low-cost operations and generate funds through criminal scams.

The aim of the strategy was to bypass the global financial dragnet set up by the US and Europe to hunt for wealthy financiers and freeze their bank accounts, said a report in The Washington Post.
