Miranshah, Sept 18 : Despite the talks between top US military man Admiral Michael Mullen Mullen and his Pakistani counterpart Ashfaq Kayani to resolve the US’ unilateral strikes issue, spy planes were seen hovering over North Waziristan early morning today.

Drones appeared over Ghulam Khan, Saidgai, Danday Darpakhel, Miranshah, Mir Ali, Razmik, Datakhel and Hanzwani areas of North Waziristan, causing panic and tension among the people, The News reported.

Besides, drones were also seen patrolling over some areas of South Waziristan.

London, Sept 17 : Newly-elected Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has reportedly sought UK’s help in resolving the simmering row with Washington over US’ unilateral strikes on its (Pakistan’s) tribal areas.

He said Britain had a better understanding than any other country, and hoped that British Prime Minister Gordon Brown would use his influence on others (read the US).

“Britain has always had a better understanding of the Subcontinent than any other country so if [the UK] will take our point of view and put it across to the world I think it will be better,” the Daily Times quoted Zardari as saying.

Islamabad, Sept 17: America’s top military official Adm. Mike Mullen made a hurriedly arranged visit to Pakistan last evening for holding talks about a recent incursion by American commandos based in neighboring Afghanistan.

The visit assumes significance in the wake of strong reactions emanating from Islamabad against the US’ raids on its territory, and especially after the Pakistan Army ordered its troops to hit back at US’ troops in case of future raids.

Caracas - Venezuela and Russia plan to deepen bilateral ties, expanding economic, technological and military cooperation, Russia's Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin said Tuesday.

The South American country was one of Russia's most trusted partners, Sechin said after a meeting with Venezuelan Vice President Ramon Carrizales.

Both countries plan to sign several agreements in a high-level meeting scheduled for October 15-18 in Caracas.

In Tuesday's meeting, a range of bilateral cooperation agreements, including in the fields of energy, trade, education, technology and military affairs were discussed, Carrizales said. Relations to Russia were important to establish a multi-polar world as envisaged by Venezuela's leader Hugo Chavez, he added.

Islamabad, Sept 17: Taking a strong exception to the highly unusual Sept. 3 ground attack by US commandos near the Angoor Ada town, the Pakistan Army has reportedly ordered its forces to open fire at US troops if they launch another air or ground raid from across the Afghan border.

According to a Pakistan Army spokesman, the orders are certain to “heighten tensions” between Washington and Islamabad as far as the fight against terrorism is concerned. Although the ground attack was rare, there have been repeated reports of US drone aircraft striking militant targets, the latest being on Sept. 12.

New Delhi, Sep 16 : The All India Minorities Front has strongly condemned the serial blasts in Delhi, and termed it a cowardice act of inhuman people.

President of AIMF S. M. Asif quoting the results of an opinion poll by English Monthly Tasveer-e-Hind, said 98 percent Indians believe that SIMI is behind these blasts while two percent blamed ISI.

He said that the people of India are now up in arms against SIMI, and added that the entire Muslim community is against any such terrorist act.
