Petron Engineering Secures LoI Worth Rs 64 Cr From Utility Energytech

The Mumbai-based Petron Engineering Construction has informed that it has Petron Engineering Secures LoI Worth Rs 64 Cr From Utility Energytechreceived a Letter of Intent from Utility Energytech and Engineers Pvt Ltd for a Rs 64-crore thermal power project in West Bengal.

The firm received the letter of intent from Utility Energytech and Engineers, an associate company of Reliance Energy Ltd, for erecting boilers for the 1,200 MW Ragunathpur Thermal Power Project.

West Bengal govt-Mamata talks over Singur today

Mamata BanerjeeKolkata, Aug 20: The West Bengal government and representatives of Opposition parties led by the Trinamool Congress will meet here this afternoon to hold discussion on the Singur impasse.

The talks are being held after State Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee invited the Trinamool Congress.

Last evening, the West Bengal government appealed to the Trinamool Congress and other Trinamool allies to postpone their proposed indefinite agitation over the Singur issue.

Govt Serious Over Stipend Issue In WB

It seems that the problems of the junior doctors in West Bengal are numbered for only a few days.

The State Health Minister Surjya Kanta Mishra has indicated that the government is trying its best to solve the stipend issue and any announcement regarding this can be made in the two-day Assembly session starting from Tuesday.

While addressing a convention called by the CPM-backed Junior Doctors Council, the State finance minister Asim Dasgupta said, “If I get the health department's recommendations in the morning, our department will study the proposals, take the decision and clear it by evening,"

23 live bombs recovered in Nandigram

West Bengal, Nadigram MapNandigram (West Bengal), August 13 : The West Bengal police on Wednesday recovered 23 live bombs from Nandigram area of West Bengal.

Meanwhile there were no reports of untoward incident after Tuesday’s clashes between the Trinamool Congress and the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) cadres.

At least 17 persons including 15 Trinamool Congress workers were injured in violent clashes on Tuesday.

Earlier in the day, Bhoomi Ucched Pratirodh Committee (BUPC) which is spearheading the anti-land acquisition movement has called off its rally at Jadubari chowk.
