Rural E-Governance Project Completed By West Bengal

The rural e-governance program, undertaken by the West Bengal government, in Rural E-Governance Project Completed By West Bengal association with microprocessor manufacturing major Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), was successfully completed in the state on Monday.

The program was undertaken with the aim to provide effective governance through computer penetration. This will take place within the Panchayati Raj institutions that covers 210 rural local bodies across 19 districts.

Buddhadev again appeals TMC to accept new rehabilitation packageKolkata, Sept 17 : West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee today once again appealed to the Trinamool Congress (TMC) to accept the new rehabilitation package to resolve the Singur impasse.

Addressing a press conference in Kolkata on Wednesday''s evening Bhattacharjee also urged the farmers who have not taken the compensation so far to receive the same by Monday. 

The Chief Minister said that the TMC is misinterpreting the agreement, which was signed in the presence of Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi on the issue.

Nano Fate Is Still Under Doubts

The Singur deadlock is becoming more and more complicated day after day. Though the state government of West Bengal is doing its best to break the impasse but the fate of Nano is still doubtful. The state government is failed to resolve the matter with the opposition Trinamool Congress party. Trinamool Congress is demanding return of some part of acquired land, but both TATA and the government are not in the mood to return the land.

Communists in West Bengal to garner support for Tata

Kolkata, Sept 13 : Communists in West Bengal on Saturday said they would create public awareness in support of the Tata plant project in state''s Singur area.

Tata Motors is facing opposition in the state''s Singur area, about an hour''s drive from Kolkata, from where it is scheduled to roll out world''s cheapest Nano car.

The state ruling Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) has asked its cadres to personally talk to the people over phone telling them about the benefits of the plant project.

Mamata, Buddhadeb hold talks over Singur impasse

Kolkata, Sept 12 : West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, mamta banerjeeBuddhadeb Bhattacharjee, mamta banerjeeon Friday held talks with Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee to settle the Singur impasse.

The talks were held at Calcutta Information Centre.

The Chief Minister expressed the desire to hold immediate talks with Banerjee, on the basis of the "satisfactory progress" achieved on Friday''s meeting between the State Government officials and the Trinamool Congress.

Singur Fails To Dampen Mittal

The world’s largest steel producer Arcelor Mittal has expressed interest to set up plants in Singur Fails To Dampen MittalIndia. The company, in a statement said that it will make investment in India. It also revealed that cost overturn and Singur like issues will not deter it from investing in India.

ArcelorMittal’s chairman & CEO, Laxmi Mittal said Singur like cases may happen in any part of the world. People can oppose a particular project but the investment issue is linked to the overall growth of the country.
