NRHM’s Asha programme benefits women, childBarolyahir (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 11 : Poor women and children in rural regions of India are availing many benefits from Asha, a scheme launched by the Government of India under the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM).

The scheme aims at spreading awareness about mother-child health. Hundreds of families of Barolyahir have gained from the services rendered by the Asha.

Under this scheme, a pregnant woman is paid Rs. 1,400, so that she can afford healthy diet and also meet other expenses.

Fortis Healthcare To Set Up Separate Cancer Block At Noida

Mr. Shivinder Mohan Singh, Fortis Healthcare Managing DirectorFortis Healthcare has made announcement about the establishment of a separate block for the treating of cancer patients at its Noida Hospital.

The hospital said that it will make an investment of Rs 30 crore to set up this block.

Mr. Shivinder Mohan Singh, Fortis Healthcare Managing Director, said, “Fortis Noida is constructing a separate block for Oncology covering an area of 30,000 sq ft. This block is expected to be operational in third quarter of fiscal 2010.”

Advani vows to bring back money from Swiss banksAllahabad, Apr 9 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Lal Krishna Advani on Thursday said if voted to power, his party would bring back the Indian money stashed in the Swiss banks.

"The BJP will bring back the huge Indian wealth stashed in the Swiss bank and other tax havens abroad and the money will be put to use for the development of the country," he added.

Advani claimed that no government could be formed in the country without the support of either the BJP or the Congress.

''Hanuman Jayanti'' celebrations in Uttar PradeshVaranasi/Ayodhya, Apr 9 : Devotees in Uttar Pradesh took out colourful procession and visited temples on Thursday on the occasion of the birthday of Lord Hanuman.

In Varanasi, a huge procession was taken out in which thousands of devotees took part. They danced on the streets to the tunes of traditional drums.

The procession, which began nine days ago, concluded on Thursday. The purpose of the procession was to spread the message of anti-terrorism among the people.

Addressing an election meeting in the village, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav asserted that there can be no government at the Centre without the three parties.

Taking a dig at the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Lalu said, "Its not in the destiny of Advani to become the Prime Minister of India. The three of us will wipe out NDA."
