Lucknow, Mar 20 : Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati released a list of candidates for 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh.

She also announced that the BSP’s nationwide campaign would start from Saturday.

“Tomorrow, I will start the BSP national campaign from Kerala with a rally in Thiruvananthapuram,” she told a press conference here.

The BSP Chief also released the party’s ‘special appeal’ to the electorate in Uttar Pradesh.

Mayawati said she would be campaigning non-stop across the country from Saturday till May11.

Allahabad, Mar 19 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Varun Gandhi on Thursday moved the Allahabad High Court challenging the criminal case lodged against him on the directives of the Election Commission for his alleged anti-Muslims remarks.

He claimed that the whole issue was created by his political rivals and was the result of a political conspiracy.

“It was a part of a political conspiracy to spoil my political career and tarnish my secular image,” Gandhi said.

Amid tight security arrangements, Salem was taken from Kaisarbagh police station to CBI court for hearing.

Earlier, the CBI had issued a production warrant against Salem in the 15-year-old case.

The industrial waste and chemicals flowing in the waters have not only proved lethal for animals, but also to villagers living on its banks.

"Earlier, we used to take bath, wash our utensils and cook food using this water. But now we will die if we drink this water. All the animals have started dying after drinking this water. A lot of diseases have spread due to this water," said Vishwa Vijay Singh, a resident.
