Soren Government to prove its majority on September 1

Sibu SarenRanchi, Aug 29 : Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren, who was sworn-in as the state''s chief minister for the second time, will prove his majority on the floor of the State Assembly on September 1.

A special session of the Jharkhand Assembly has been convened here for the trial of strength of the Shibu Soren Government. Governor Syed Sibtey Razi has directed Soren to prove his majority on the floor of the House by Monday.

A special session of Jharkhand Assembly is being convened two days after the JMM chief was sworn-in as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand.

Sibu SarenRanchi, August 27 : Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) chief Shibu Soren was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand here today. This is his second stint in the State CM office in the past three years.

Governor Syed Sibtey Razi administered the oath of office and secrecy to Soren and 11 of his cabinet colleagues at Morabadi ground here.

He will have to prove majority on the floor of the State Assembly on September 1, as per a directive from the Raj Bhawan.

The swearing-in ceremony of the 64-year-old tribal leader will be held at the Morabadi Ground at around 4:00 p. m.

Stalemate continues in Jharkhand over govt. formation

Ranchi, Aug 24 : Stalemate about formation of an alternative Government still continues as Madhu Koda after his resignation from Chief Minister''s post has refused to support JMM supremo Shibu Soren.

On Saturday, Koda submitted his resignation to Governor Syed Sibte Razi after a meeting with Congress president Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi.

Koda told reporters after submitting his resignation that his government was reduced to a minority.

"After the turn of events in the last ten-twelve days, morally and democratically, I felt I should resign and that is why I handed over my resignation to the Governor," he said.

Prime Minister to decide, says Sibu Soren

Manmohan Singh & Sibu SarenRanchi, July 29 : Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) president Sibu Soren on Tuesday said in Bokaro that the question whether he would become a Union Minister or the Chief Minister of Jharkhand will become clear after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh returns from his impending trip to Colombo.

Soren said, "Be it union minister ship or chief minister ship, everything will be decided only after the Prime Minister completes his foreign engagement."
