TNSM’s deadline forces NWFP Govt to sign Nizam-e-Adl RegulationPeshawar, Mar. 10 : In a bid to sustain its control over the North West Frontier Province (NWFP) before the Taliban start their own Shariat courts in the Malakand division, the provincial government has hurriedly signed the proposed Nizam-e-Adl Regulation, 2009.

Chief Minister, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has sent the regulation for final approval to President Asif Ali Zardari, The Nation reports.

In return, the Taliban said they would allow the reopening of all roads.

The deal was reached at a meeting of representatives of the government, TNSM and the Taliban at the Circuit House in Gulkada.

The Karak Maulana Shah Abdul Aziz led jirga has been seeking return of the Polish engineer's body, but its efforts have proved to be futile till now.

Pakistan groups Taliban in Black, Grey and White categories

Peshawar, Mar. 7: The Pakistan Government has classified the Taliban into three categories black, gray and white.

The police investigation manual sees black and gray categories of Taliban prisoners as a serious threat to national security, while the ‘white category’ Talibanis are not considered very harmful.

On Friday, NWEF Chief Minister Ameer Haider Hoti announced that the only ‘white category Taliban prisoners’ would be released as part of the peace deal in Swat.

“I have directed the home secretary to look into the cases of those prisoners who are in the white category. We will not free prisoners in black and gray categories,” the Daily Times quoted Hoti, as saying.

Eight persons including seven policemen killed in Peshawar blastPeshawar, Mar. 7: At least eight persons including seven police personnel were reportedly killed when a powerful bomb blast rocked a police check- post in Budhber locality here on Saturday.

According to The News, the blast occurred when a suicide bomber blew himself up near the check-post in the outskirts of the city, killing eight people on the spot besides injuring several others.

Rescue operations were still on till the reports last came in.
