London, Jan. 31: The England Cricket Board (ECB) has extended Mushtaq Ahmad's tenure as England's spin-bowling coach upto the forthcoming Test series in the West Indies.

The ECB said that the players in the national team are really happy with Ahmad and his coaching abilities, as he has helped in tremendously improving players like Monty Panesar grow on the international arena.

London, Jan 31: The father of Rubina Ali, the actress who played the role of young `Latika' in critically acclaimed film `Slumdog Millionaire' has come out in defence of the movie bosses, insisting that they have "done much more than what a parent does."

The relatives of Ali and Azharuddin Ismail, who played young Salim in the film, had accused bosses of paying low wages to the child actors- who received 500 pounds and 1,700 pounds respectively for their work.

London, Jan 31 : Sharat Sardana, the writer of Emmy Award-winning comedy `Goodness Gracious Me', has died after contracting a rare infection. He was 40.

With shows like `The Kumars at Number 42', Sardana helped bring British Asian comedy to mainstream audiences.

A long-time collaborator with actors Meera Syal and Sanjeev Bhaskar, Sardana died at Whipps Cross University Hospital on Tuesday, the east London hospital said.
