London, Feb 02: Take That star Gary Barlow has been named the `Greatest British Songwriter'.
Barlow, 38, whose hits include Pray, Back for Good and Patience, has also written hits for Blue, Charlotte Church, Donny Osmond - and Peter Kay's spoof character Geraldine McQueen.
Barlow landed the top spot in a poll, conducted by www. onepoll. com.
Beatles John Lennon and Paul McCartney came second and third respectively.

The townhouse is within walking distance of pads owned by Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding, cool comedians Noel Fielding and Leigh Francis, and Blur's Graham Coxon.
Hilton was very impressed with the six-bedroom house and now wants to spend another 250,000 pounds to make the house "Pure Paris".
