Talks at Singur inconclusive, to resume on Sunday

Talks at Singur inconclusive, to resume on SundayKolkata, Sept 6 : Talks between the Trinamool Congress and the West Bengal Government to end the Singur imbroglio remained inconclusive for the second day on Saturday.

However the two sides agreed to meet again on Sunday.

After the meeting, which was presided over by West Bengal Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi, a press statement issued by Raj Bhavan said that both the sides went into greater detail on the prospects of a land-based rehabilitation scheme in and around Singur project site.

Singur talks to resume today

Tata Nano plant, SingurKolkata, Sep 6: The dialogue to resolve the Singur Nano car project crisis will resume here today.

The talks between the representatives of the State Government and Trinamool Congress remained inconclusive on Friday evening.

West Bengal Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi chaired the talks following request from Chief Minister Budhadev Bhattacharjee and Trinamool Congress Chief Mamata Banerjee.

Gandhi said the meeting was conducted in a good spirit and there was useful discussions.

West Bengal Governor defers Singur talks till Friday evening

West Bengal Governor Gopal Krishna GandhiKolkata, Sept 5: The crucial meeting, which was to be chaired by West Bengal Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi this morning to find a solution to the Singur deadlock, was postponed till late this afternoon.

The representatives of the State Government and the Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee met the Governor at Raj Bhavan for few minutes during which the State Government requested the Governor to postpone the talks by a few hours.

Accordingly, the Governor requested the Trinamool Congress to reassemble at 4:00 p. m.

Tata says Nano launch will be on schedule

Meanwhile, West Bengal Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi has begun preliminary discussions with the State Government and the Trinamool Congress.

The Governor also held a meeting with Sudip Bandopadhyay, the chairman of the State Assembly’s Standing Committee on Commerce and Industry.

A Raj Bhavan press statement said the Governor''s role would not be that of third party mediator, but that of the meeting''s chairperson.
