Kabul - A suicide car bomb attack outside the main US base in Afghanistan on Wednesday injured three civilians, the military said in a statement.
The attack took place near an entry checkpoint of Bagram airfield, north of Kabul city, the biggest US military base in the country, wounding three civilian contractors, the US military said in statement, but did not disclose the nationalities of the victims.
Kabul - A trainer and three members of an Afghan youth football team who were training for an upcoming regional competition have disappeared from their hotel in Germany, officials said Tuesday.
The 18 players of the national under-18 team, two trainers and two government officials had gone to the south-western German city of Stuttgart February 8 for two weeks of training to prepare for a regional competition to be held in Iran later this year.
Kabul - Afghan President Hamid Karzai ordered in a decree on Saturday that the country's presidential poll, which had been slated for August, be brought forward to April.
The Afghan Election Commission will therefore conduct presidential, parliamentary, provincial council, district council and municipality elections in accordance with the constitution, the decree said.
According to the Afghan constitution, the presidential election should be held at least 30 days before the end of the presidential term on May 22.

Kabul - Four Afghan civilians working with a construction company were killed in a roadside bomb explosion in eastern Afghanistan, while Afghan and coalition forces killed one insurgent and arrested 18 others, officials said Thursday.
The workers were killed in Yousifkhel district of the south-eastern province of Paktika on Thursday when their vehicle was struck by a roadside bomb, the Interior Ministry said in a statement.
"All the occupants of the vehicle, who were all civilians and working with a road construction company, were martyred in the explosion," it said.
Kabul - Two Afghan soldiers with a counternarcotics unit and five militants were killed in a clash in southern Afghanistan while Afghan and US-led coalition forces killed 10 militants in the same region, officials said Wednesday.
A group of militants attacked counternarcotics soldiers Tuesday while they were eradicating poppy fields in the Nad Ali district of Helmand province, said Daoud Ahamdi, spokesman for the provincial governor.
