Jakarta - An Indonesian man had to undergo surgery after a horse bit off one of his testicles, news reports said Thursday.

Jakarta - Indonesia tried to stop books written by three executed Bali bombers from being published but they made it to print in limited copies, a terrorism expert said Wednesday.

Amrozi bin Nurhasyim, Imam Samudra and Ali Ghufran, also known as Mukhlas, wrote the books called The Martyrs Trilogy in prison while they were awaiting execution for the October 2002 bombings.

Sidney Jones, adviser to the International Crisis Group think tank, said there was competition among radical publishing houses for their works before their executions last year.

Police say rebels kill two civilians in Indonesia's PapuaJakarta  - Separatist rebels on Tuesday shot and killed two motorcycle taxi drivers in Indonesia's easternmost province of Papua, police said.

The men were attacked while they were carrying two passengers in Puncak Jaya district, an area where rebels of the Free Papua Movement (OPM) have been active, said Papua police chief Bagus Eko Danto.

The passengers were injured in the shooting, which was the first fatal attack carried out by the rebel group this year, the police chief said.

Indonesian students demand closing of Buddha Bar Jakarta - About 100 Indonesian Buddhist students rallied outside the Buddha Bar on Thursday, demanding it be closed for what they see as the sacrilegious use of the name.

The protestors burned incense and symbolically sealed the bar in central Jakarta with a yellow line.

The students gave the Jakarta administration a week to close the bar, a hip Paris-based franchise of restaurants, and threatened to stage larger protests if their demand was not met.

Video surveillance for rare Javan rhinosJakarta - Thirty-four video cameras have been installed at an Indonesian national park to track every move of Java rhinos, the world's most endangered large mammal, the global conservation group World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) said Thursday.

The cameras installed at the Ujung Kulon National Park on the western tip of Java island are intended to find out more about the animal and help to prevent the species from going extinct, the WWF said.

There are fewer than 60 Javan rhinos in the world and Ujung Kulon is home to 50 of them, the group said.
