HC defers hearing on plea on declaration of judges’ assetsNew Delhi, Feb 27 : The Delhi High Court on Friday deferred hearing on a petition filed by the Supreme Court challenging a Central Information Commission (CIC) order directing that assets of the judges should be made public.

Justice S. Ravinder Bhat adjourned the matter and posted it for further hearing on March 17.

The Supreme Court in its affidavit had said declaration of assets by its judges to the Chief Justice is "personal" information, which cannot be revealed under the Right to Information Act.

Gujarat Govt. to issue health ordinance to control Hepatitis B epidemicAhmedabad, Feb. 27 : Gujarat Government will soon issue the Gujarat Public Health Ordinance following the recent epidemic of Hepatitis B in some parts of the state.

State Health Minister Jaynarayan Vyas on Friday made the announcement in the State Assembly.

He said that the main objective of the ordinance was to secure the treatment of the patients by regulating health services provided by the private doctors and medical practitioners.

One leopard captured, other remains at large

The forest department heaved a sigh of relief on Thursday morning after emerging successful in capturing one of the two leopards on the prowl on the outskirts of Gandhinagar.

The seven-year-old male leopard Jaas was captured from Jaspur village in Kalol taluka after an intensive overnight operation. Deputy conservator of forest DT Vasavada told DNA that the leopard they have trapped is very healthy. "But whether the leopard is to be sent to a zoo or released in the wild will be decided only after a meeting of top officials," he added.
