Speed of economic reforms will increase post Left''s withdrawal: Chidambaram

Jaipur, July 23 :P Chidambaram Finance Minister P. Chidambaram today said that the speed of economic reforms in the country will increase after the Left Parties withdraw its support to the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government.

Talking to media persons here, Chidambaram said that even those parties who voted against the Government would be taken together in the process of economic reforms.

Commenting on the price rise issue, he said that the main reason of price rise is the hike in the prices of crude oil and effective steps are being taken in this direction.

India, Malaysia play out a draw

The football practice match between India and Malaysia remained draw on Tuesday. This practice match was played ahead of the AFC Challenge Cup football tournament which is scheduled in the end of month. The match was aimed to make both teams aware about ground conditions and to raise their confidence level before Challenge Cup football tournament. The match is likely to come from July 30 to August 10.  

The first half was not much impressive without any goal by players of both teams. A free kick taken by Climax Lawrence was worth mentioning.

15 killed in bus accident in India-administered Kashmir

Srinagar,Jammu and Kashmir Kashmir - At least 15 people were killed and more than 35 injured Wednesday when their bus fell into a gorge in India's northern state of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

The accident occurred when the driver lost control of the bus at Sher-Bibi near the Banihal pass, about 80 kilometres south of the state's summer capital, Srinagar. The bus was on its way to Srinagar from the state's winter capital, Jammu, 150 kilometres to the south.

Eleven people died on the spot while four succumbed to their injuries on the way to hospital.

Piramal, Pierre Fabre launches dermo-cosmetic range

The company expects to make Rs 20 crore in revenue in two years from the sale of 'Ducray' range of skin and hair care products, which will be available on dermatologists’ recommendation and at all organized chemist stores across India.
