19th bomb found in Surat, Narendra Modi announces Rs 51 lakh for blast related information

Surat, July 30 :Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi As Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today visited Surat to take stock of the security situation here, another live bomb has been found in the city.

According to latest reports, the bomb has been spotted in the Baroda Prestige area in Varacha by local residents.

Modi announced a reward of Rs 51 lakh for information leading to terrorists involved in the serial blasts in Ahmedabad and planting of bombs in Surat.

He said, "We are fighting a war against terror and we will deal with it with utmost strictness."

Several live bombs found in Surat, claim police

ahmedabad-suratSurat, July 29 : Several live bombs have been found in different places in Surat today, out of which three bombs were defused in the residential areas of Varacha, confirmed police.

The first two bombs were found in Labheshwar and Santoshinagar areas of Varacha. They were kept inside an abandoned bag. A third was found hanging on a tree behind the Matavadi Police outpost in the Varacha area this morning.

The police have sounded a ''high alert'' in the city in the wake of live bombs being found within a span of three hours.

The bomb contents have been sent to a forensic science lab for analysis, police said.

19 injured in Ahmedabad serial blasts

AhmedabadAhmedabad, July 26 : At least 19 people were injured when serial blasts rocked different parts of Ahmedabad on Saturday evening.

While reports from Ahmedabad said that there were six explosions, the State Government confirmed three blasts.

According to television reports, the first blast took place at 6.45 p. m. at Mani Nagar Chowk. The other blasts took place at Bapu Nagar, Saranpur Bridge, Sardar Patel Bazaar, Ishaanpur and Raipur.

Mani Nagar is the constituency of Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

According to preliminary investigative reports, the bombs were found in tiffins that were planted on bicycles.

The ashram in the Gujarat town has been in the headlines ever since the death of two children at its Gurukul.

Earlier on July 18, people of the city had observed a shutdown against the alleged shoddy probe into the death of the children.

The bodies of Dipesh Praful Vaghela, 10, and his cousin Abhishek Shantilal Vaghela, 11, were found in the riverbed near the Asharam Bapu’s Ashram on the outskirts of the city on July 6. The bodies were recovered two days after the boys were reported to be missing.
