Biggest German TV group loses CEO Guillaume de Posch

Munich - Guillaume de Posch, the chief executive at the biggest of Germany's four main television groups, ProSiebenSat. 1, resigned Tuesday in an unexpected move that sent the group's shares lower.

The group is controlled by two private-equity investment companies, KKR (Kohlberg Kravis Roberts) and Permira, and has 3.5 billion euros (5.4 billion dollars) in debt after its takeover last year of Swedish based TV group SBS.

ProSiebenSat. 1 said de Posch was leaving at his own wish, effective at the end of this year, as it was the right time to move on, but gave no reason for his departure. He has run the group for the past four years.

German delegation expected in Beirut to question German bomber

Beirut - A German judicial delegation is expected to arrive in Beirut in July to question one of the would-be bombers of a German train who was tried and sentenced in Lebanon, Lebanese judicial sources said Tuesday.

"A German judicial delegation was given permission by the general prosecutor Saaed Mirza to come to Beirut to question Jihad Hamad as a witness on July 3," the sources told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa.

Hamad's lawyer, Fawaz Zakariyeh, told dpa that he will also be present at the questioning.

A Lebanese court in December 2007 sentenced Hamad to 12 years hard labour for the failed 2006 attempt to bomb two trains in Germany and acquitted three other defendants who were held with him in Lebanon.
