The internet users in India and China have more tendency to make friends online than the internet users from other parts of the world – states a new survey of global web users. The survey articulated in the Norton Online Living Report, commissioned by Internet security firm Symantec, says that Indian and Chinese web users make more online friends than other global web users.

London  - Britain's Prince Charles on Thursday discussed Tibet with Chinese President Hu Jintao in London, where the Chinese leader had attended the Group of 20
(G20) summit.

Details of the talks were not released by the palace but Charles, heir to the British throne, is known to be a long-time supporter of the Dalai Lama - Tibet's spiritual leader.

Prince Charles had been urged by Tibet campaign group Free Tibet to raise the issue with Hu, including a list of human rights concerns submitted by the group.

Vatican City - The Vatican on Thursday said it felt "deep pain" over the re-arrest in China this week of an elderly Roman Catholic bishop from the country's "underground" church which remains loyal to the pope.

Police on Monday arrested Bishop Julius Jia Zhiguo of Zhengding, a county in China's Hebei Province some 260 kilometres south of the capital Beijing, Catholic media reported.

Beijing - Protestors from China's Hui Muslim minority blocked three bridges in the central province of Henan after a Han Chinese bus driver accused of killing a Hui Chinese was released by police, sources said Thursday.

Up to 1,000 people took to the streets in Luohe, unhappy with the 200,000-yuan (29,000-dollar) compensation offered to the family, according to a statement by the Information Centre for Human Rights and Democracy.

Beijing  - Police in the eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou have arrested 11 suspects in an illegal gambling network linked via the internet to a casino in the Philippines, state media said on Thursday.

A local businessman, identified only by the surname Li, set up the network last March after meeting representatives of the unidentified casino during a gambling trip to Macao, the official China Daily quoted police as saying.
