ULFA militant killed in encounter with CRPF in AssamDispur, July 20 : Fugitive militant of the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA), Amrit Dutta, was killed in an encounter with the police and the Central Reserve Police Force at Majuli in Assam last evening.

The ULFA leader was killed in the encounter at Katonihati Jurbil under Jengraimukh police station at around 7:00 pm, said police officials.

A joint team of police and the CRPF surrounded a house where Dutta was hiding with other militants.

The militants opened fire on the security personnel who retaliated killing Dutta. Other two managed to escape.
