Recent case of vulgar ragging at Osmania Medical College (OMC) once again highlights the issue of raging in campus. Despite the various constitutional laws and efforts of educational intuitions new college students are still harassed by seniors.
On April 2, around 10 pm, 26 first year students were called by their seniors on their mess terrace. The students were asked to "strip and perform obscene acts" by their seniors.
Hyderabad, Apr 8 : Rahul Gandhi, scion of India's most powerful political dynasty and touted as a future Prime Minister, on Wednesday said that his Congress party is pro-poor.
Addressing an election meeting in Hyderabad, Gandhi lashed at the opposition parties, accusing accused them of being anti-poor.
"The difference between the Congress party and our opponents is that we are proud of the poor people of India, we believe in the poor people of India and they are ashamed of the poor people of India," Gandhi told a large gathering here.

Hyderabad, Apr. 7 : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday filed a charge sheet against Satyam founder B Ramalinga Raju and eight others.
The 76-page charge sheet was filed before the special court here under various sections of Indian Penal Code for cheating and forgery.
The company's former managing director, Rama Raju, former chief financial officer, Vadlamani Srinivas, and the two sacked auditors of PriceWaterhouse, S Gopalkrishnan and Talluri Srinivas were also named in the charge sheet.
Hyderabad, Apr 7 : The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on Tuesday expelled 40 rebels for six years, after they filed their nomination papers as independents for the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections.
APCC General Secretary Anand Bhaskar said these 40 rebel candidates have been expelled with immediate affect.
In a statement, Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President Dharmapuri Srinivas said the party took a decision to expel them, as they did not pay attention to the several appeals made by the party brass, including Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy.
Carnation Auto, promoted by Jagdish Khattar, former chairman and managing director of Maruti Suzuki, has signed a joint venture pact with the Variety Group to set up multi-brand auto solution hubs in Andhra Pradesh.
The venture would offer service and maintenance, sale of secondhand cars, insurance services, and accessories i. e. all services under one roof. The company, in near future, has also plan to sell new cars.
Under the arrangement, Carnation would hold a 51 per cent stake in the latest JV while Variety will hold the remaining stake in it.
