Ramco, Rolta and Jet Airways among top gainers
Ramco Systems gained 10% and ended the day at Rs 167.65. The Chennai based company was among the top gainers in A group shares on BSE.
Among other buzzing stocks were Rolta India, Jet Airways, Dredging Corp. and Bombay Dyeing. Rolta India was up by 7.72% and ended at 517.55 levels. It was the second biggest gainer in A group.
While Jet Airways has postponed its rights issue of $400 million, the company shares were up by 7% on back of reports that the company may show profits by the end of current financial year. The company also plans to start flights to many destinations in Middle East by Jan, 2008. Jet Airways is largest airline company listed on stock exchange.
PSU counter Dredging Corporation of India gained 6.85% and closed at Rs 600.20. The company has reported a 62.2% increase in net profit. While the company sales have jumped by 83.9% during first quarter of the current financial year.
Bombay Dyeing was up by 4.5% to close at Rs 610.80. The company issued a statement that it would raise Rs 119 crore through convertible warrants to its promoter group company, Bombay Burmah Trading Corp.
