Police arrest two SIMI activists in Madhya Pradesh
Bhopal, Sept 20 : Two Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) activists, one of them suspected to be having links with Jaipur and Ahmedabad serial blasts, were held in Madhya Pradesh, police sources said on Saturday.
According to sources, Mohammad Ali was arrested from Jabalpur while Khalid alias Vikram Nai was picked up from Kareli town of Narsinghpur District on Friday in a joint operation by Gujarat, Rajasthan, Delhi and Madhya Pradesh police.
Following an information given by Shahbaz Hussain, who was arrested recently in connection with Jaipur and Ahmedabad serial blasts, the duo were held and being interrogated.
Ali is believed to have been generating finance for the state unit of the banned outfit, while Khalid, hailing from Ujjain, had alleged links with Chhota Rajan gang.
Earlier, the Ujjain police had announced a reward of Rs 10,000 for information leading to the arrest of Khalid, as he was wanted in many criminal cases. (ANI
