Poland's GDP grew 4.8 per cent in 2008, Warsaw reports

Poland holds talks with Ukraine, Lithuania amid gas row Warsaw - Poland's gross domestic produc grew by 4.8 per cent in 2008, said the Central Statistical Office on Thursday.

The growth was lower than 6.7 per cent in 2007, but in line with most analysts' expectations.

The released data for 2008 also showed investment up by 7.9 per cent.

Domestic demand rose 4.8 per cent, compared to 7.3 per cent in 2007. Private consumption was up 5.4 per cent, from 5.2 per cent in the previous year. (dpa)
