Poirot screened across the globe

Hercule-PoirotBelgium's famous detective- Hercule Poirot is seeking global credence that entitles David Suchet's award-winning portrayal of the 'sleuth with the little grey cells'.

As the reports of ITV Studios Global Entertainment state the much acclaimed Agatha Christie-created detective's TV series has now been showcased for screening in 220 territories which is comparatively more than US's 192 member states.

The buyers list which seemingly huge comprises of Eastern European broadcasters such as TV Centre (Russia) and Canal+ (Poland), Czech TV (Czech Rep), ETV (Estonia), HRT (Croatia), Latvian TV (Latvia), RTV (Slovenia), STV (Slovakia) and Story TV 4 (Hungary). Ones who are considered to be regular takers of the series are CCTV (China), PBS (USA), ABC (Australia), France 2, Mediaset (Italy), Television de Murcia (Spain), Telecine (Brazil), Prime (New Zealand) and NBC's Hallmark Channel in both the Middle East and Africa.

According, to the Director Global TV Distribution at ITV Studios Global Entertainment, Tobi de Graaff, said: "We are extremely proud of Poirot and Lewis' (another crime series) international success."

At present the figures sate that, Poirot is being watched at 220 territories around the world and a further sales is predicted in the near future.
