Today, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will make a statement and there are chances that he would announce the government's aim to form a JPC to investigate the scam as well.

It is possible that after the introduction of new ministers in his Cabinet, PM will produce his statement in the Lok Sabha. It was stated by the Parliament sources that on Thursday, that Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal would give a motion for constituting a JPC. This will be done after the Prime Minister replies to the Motion of Thanks to the President's address for having the joint sitting of Parliament.

After this the motion, the JPC would be referred to the Rajya Sabha for its agreement. On the other hand the government has previously agreed to the Opposition demand for creating of a JPC into 2G spectrum allocation. The case of 2G spectrum was continuing from a long time and the entire winter session of Parliament was crashed after this issue.

There have been rumours that the JPC will be "broad- based" and would comprise most of the parties in it.
