PlayStation 3 Firmware 3.21 hit stores
Hackers have supposedly started their lookout for the alternatives and thus in retaining the 'Install Other OS' support.
Sony, which is behind the launch of firmware 3.21 for its gaming consoles, has released the update which takes off the "Install Other OS" feature from PlayStation 3 consoles which were released before PS 3 Slim. The latest update implies that one cannot change the operating system.
Although the new update brings new features and improvements which are vital for connecting the console with PlayStation Network and play games that require firmware 3.21 or higher.
George Hotz, the mastermind who found PS 3 hack, has posted on his blog that he will shortly look in for an alternative of the update 3.21 which perfectly gels along with other OS and at the same time doesn't lose other OS support.
Sony on the other hand has citied his own reasons for which they'll be removing the 'Other OS' support'. But on the flip side, if Hotz is successful in finding out a hack for installing custom firmware, a whole new community of PS 3 hackers will arise.
