Playing Rizwan In ‘MNIK’ Was A Big Challenge, Says Shahrukh KhanRegarding his new character in 'My Name is Khan', ace Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan stated that playing the role of an autistic person was a big challenge for him.

King Khan, who played the character of Rizwan in the flick, said, "I think it is a very new and difficult concept. I play Rizwan Khan, a person suffering from autism. I prepared well for the role. I hope I have done well."

"Of course, I have taken some cinematic liberties with it," he added.

SRK also said that when he, Kajol and Karan Johar got together and contemplate what novel could be created, and that is how 'MNIK' came into existence.

Directed by Kjo and produced by Gauri Khan and Hiroo Yash Johar, the story of the movie revolves around Rizwan (Shahrukh) and Mandira (Kajol).

The attack on September 11, 2001 affects their bond where Muslims suffer a transformation. They confront several difficulties following which they split.

In this way, the film concentrates on the link between the Western world and Islam and how it got altered over the last few years.

The actor also showed appreciation towards the country's people for accepting and praising him as well as his work for so many years.

MNIK, which will be distributed by FOX Star Entertainment, is slated for worldwide release in cinema houses on 12 February 2010.

Shahrukh, who also owns the IPL group 'Kolkata Knight Riders', skirted issue on why Pakistani cricketers were not chosen during the auction, who tool place last week.
