Pinellas County employee addresses Complaint of barbecue smell and smoke
A video uploaded on Facebook has gone viral in which a Pinellas County employee has alerted a group of people that a neighbor has complained about the smell and smoke of their cooking. The unnamed officer has given the property owners his contact information.
Last week, a video was posted on the internet that showed a Pinellas County employee alerting a group of people that he has come to them as a response to a complaint filed by their neighbor that smoke and smell of their barbecue has crossed their property line.
The video has received more than four million views on Facebook. As per the neighbor's complaint, the smoke and smell of their barbecue has crossed the property line, which is illegal. The environmental specialist did say that the barbecue smoke coming out from their backyard is illegal.
The video also showed that the men tried to convince the officer that other neighbors also barbecue, but no county employee come to them. But the officer said that if he would have received complaint about those gatherings then he would have reacted in the same manner.
Police officers and firefighters have come to their property many times in the past years, but they did not pay much heed to them. The specialist said that he could also smell the barbecue while being on the property, which is not an issue.
"There is a rule in play here, and that basically what you're doing looks like it may be in counter to the rule as far as.", said the specialist. Tim Closterman, communications director for Pinellas County, said the specialist has just completed his duty. It was the 15th complaint about the particular property owner since September 2014.
