Piaggio Vehicles opens EV Experience Centre in Jaipur

Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Italian automobile group Piaggio, has inaugurated first-of-its-kind electric vehicle (EV) experience center called “Modi E-Mart Auto India” in Jaipur, the capital of Indian state of Rajasthan.

Inaugurated by Rajasthan’s Transport Minister Pratap Singh Khachariya, Modi E-Mart Auto India is Piaggio’s first of its kind EV Experience Centre in Western Indian state. It will allow potential customers to access the Italian automaker’s entire range of EVs.

The Transport Minister said the inauguration of the Modi E-Mart Auto India gave him immense pleasure as it would allow customers to have a look at Piaggio EVs that would be available as an option to facilitate their shift from conventional vehicles to EVs.

Saju Nair, executive vice president and head of commercial vehicle business for Piaggio Vehicles, also praised the opening of the new facility, saying they were very happy to open EV Experience Centre in Jaipur. He added that Ape’s recently launched Electric FX range will cater to the needs of the company’s customers, protect the environment, and will revolutionize the industry with the ‘Ape goes Electric, India goes Electric’ concept.

Speaking on the topic, Nair said, “The Ape’ Electric FX range will cater to the needs of our customers, protect the environment, will be a pleasing mode of transportation for the tourism sector and will revolutionize the industry with the concept of ‘Ape goes Electric, India goes Electric’.”

Malind Kapur, senior vice president of marketing, product marketing & channel-business development at Piaggio Vehicles Pvt. Ltd., added that the company’s increasing range of EVs would generate self-employment and help area residents in becoming self-reliant.

The senior executive stressed that the company’s core philosophy aimed at providing path-breaking solutions in the last mile transportation segment as the automobile brand remained committed to providing the best-possible mobility solutions to the customers. The government’s FAME-II subsidy benefits will make the EVs more attractive.

The Indian arm of the Italian company recently introduced three-year super warranty, a three-year free maintenance programme, for the Ape’ Electric FX offering. It may be noted here that Jaipur is one of the most famous tourist places in India, and intra-city transportation is a key source of income for a lot of local people. Thus, Piaggio’s new range of low cost EVs is expected to help in increasing the locals’ earnings.
