Sonia says neighbouring country spreading terror

Sonia GandhiJaipur, Feb. 3 : Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday accused the neighbouring country (Pakistan) of spreading terror in the country but emphasized that Indians were strong enough to fight the menace.

While addressing a thanks-giving rally in Jaipur, the state capital of Rajasthan, where Congress returned to power during Assembly elections after trouncing Bharatiya Janata party, Sonia Gandhi said that people of India would never allow its enemies to succeed in their endeavor of spreading terror.

Sonia to dedicate country''s longest Mundra-Delhi oil pipeline to nation todayJaipur, Feb 3: Congress President Sonia Gandhi will dedicate the 1,054-km Mundra-Delhi oil pipeline to the nation at Bagru town near Jaipur today.

It is project of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (HPCL) and was built in just 36 months at a cost of 1,757 crore rupees. It is the country''s longest oil pipeline.

The pipeline passes through eleven districts spread over Gujarat, Rajasthan and Haryana.

Congress Working Committee meeting begins today

Sonia GandhiNew Delhi, Jan 29 : A meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC), the highest decision making body of Congress, began at 10:30 a. m. at the residence of party Chief Sonia Gandhi.

The committee will discuss strengthening of alliances, finalisation of the manifesto and preparing a strategy to succeed in the coming Lok Sabha elections.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh did not participate in the meeting for the first time in the recent past, as he is on rest following the coronary by-pass surgery.

Gandhi, who is on a two-day visit of her Lok Sabha constituency, said that eight to ten thousand people would get jobs from this project, which is to come up on 522 hectares of land.

Claiming that no coalition Government has been able to achieve as much as the UPA regime, Gandhi said the government would soon announce a reduction in the prices of petroleum products.
