Sania-Bhupathi cruise into Australian Open finalsMelbourne, Jan 30: Indian Pair Sania Mirza and Mahesh Bhupathi entered the finals of Australian Open mixed doubles after beating Czech duo Iveta Benesova and Lukas Dlouhy in straight sets.

The Indian pair beat their Czech rivals 6-4 6-1, and made into the finals of Australian Open for second consecutive year. They lost last year's final at the Melbourne Park.

Trailing in the opening set 1-3, Sania and Bhupathi stormed back to seal the match in just 54 minutes.

The Indian pair will now face the winners of the match between the Canadian pair of Aleksandra Wozniak and Daniel Nestor and second seed Chinese-Bahamian duo of Zi Yan and Mark Knowles.

The Indians took just 23 minutes to pocket the opening set.

Sania failed to reproduce her round one form, where she defeated Marta Domachowhska 6-1, 6-4.

Sania Mirza crashed out singles event following a 3-6, 2-6 second round loss to World number 10 Petrova, thus bringing down the curtains on India's singles challenge in the process. The 10th seed Petrova took just 70 minutes to beat the 22-year-old Indian girl from Hyderabad.

The tour was jointly planned by the PTF (Pakistan Tennis Federation) and the (ITF) Indian Tennis Federation to promote tennis and improve bilateral relations between the two federations, reported the Daily Times.
