New Delhi, Oct 16 : Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Murli Deora met B. P. Sonjica, Minister for Minerals and Energy of South Africa here today.
While recalling close, historic and warm ties between India and South Africa, the two Ministers discussed ways and means to establish cooperation in the oil and gas sector between the two countries.

During the meeting, the two Ministers discussed measures to strengthen further ties of cooperation between the two countries in the oil and gas sector.
They also exchanged views on the use of ethanol in transport sector.

New Delhi, Sept 12 : Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Murli Deora today flagged off relief material contributed by the oil companies for flood-hit Bihar.
The relief material includes fuels like kerosene, free LPG for community kitchens in relief camps, solar lanterns, blankets, candles, matchboxes, ORS (Oral Re-Hydration Solutions), milk powder and cooking utensils.
Deora said his ministry is in touch with people in flood affected areas and promised more relief, if needed.

New Delhi, Sep 1 : The Union Government today ruled out an immediate reduction in petrol and diesel prices as state-run firms are still running into daily loss of over Rs 400 crore despite softening in international oil prices.
“Where is the scope for reducing prices? Oil companies are still making losses,” Petroleum Minister Murli Deora told reporters.
The drop in international oil prices has resulted in revenue loss of Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum dip to Rs 400 crore per day from Rs 450 crore a fortnight back.
