Washington, Jan 9 : Hollywood actor Mickey Rourke has come out in support of US President George Bush, insisting he doesn''t understand why so many people blame Bush for a string of world issues.

In an interview to GQ magazine, the 56-year-old star urges the public to consider the tremendous pressure Bush was under following the terror attacks on the World Trade Centre in 2001.

"President Bush was in the wrong place at the wrong time, I don''t know how anyone could have handled this situation," Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

Washington, Jan 8 : American actor Mickey Rourke is in talks to star as a heavily tattooed Russian villain in Iron Man 2.

The `Wrestler' star is in discussions to play the Crimson Dynamo, a Russian arms dealer, who's considered to be an evil version of Iron Man because he battles the superhero in a nuclear-powered suit of armor, reports Variety.

The Marvel Entertainment sequel would be directed by Jon Favreau. The shooting will begin this spring.

London, December 4 : Mickey Rourke has been nominated for the ‘best actor’ category at Hollywood’s leading Spirit Awards for his comeback performance in the upcoming movie ‘The Wrestler’.

The ‘Angel Heart’ actor, who had been trained as a boxer in his early years and had had a short stint as a pro fighter in the 1990s, had starred alongside , Ernest Miller, Marisa Tomei and Evan Rachel Wood in the film directed by Darren Aronofsky.

The sports drama, which won the Golden Lion Award for Best Film, has also been put forward for the best feature award, reports BBC.

London, November 29 : Mickey Rourke has revealed that he is yet to get over his split from ex-wife Carré Otis – 10 years ago.

The ‘Angel Heart’ actor, who tied the knot with the model in 1992 after being paired with her in ‘Wild Orchid’, said that despite having had a troubled relationship with each other his love for the actress had not deterred, reports the Daily Express.

On being questioned if he pined for Carré, the 56-year-old said: “Pine? No, there''s got to be a worse word than that. Not being here would have been much, much easier. It was something really special, but it was just fire on fire."
