Karachi, Mar. 22 : Legendry ghazal singer Mehdi Hassan may soon be discharged from the hospital, but would require a 24 hour nursing care at home too.

While Pakistan Government has shown concern over the health of the sick `Shahenshah-e-Ghazal' Mehdi Hassain with President Asif Ali Zardari and the Chief Minister of Sindh providing one million rupees and 250,000 rupees respectively for the treatment, his family members said they are finding it hard to pay the medical bills, Dawn reports.

Karachi, Feb. 13 : Legendry ghazal singer Mehdi Hassan has been hospitalized after he reported uneasiness and difficulty in breathing.

Hassan has been admitted to the Agha Khan Hospital here.

He has been kept in an intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital, where doctors are treating him for chest and lung infections.

"Not only is he unable to speak, but he is also unable to recognise his family members," The News quoted Hassan's son, Arif Mehdi, as saying.

The singer was hospitalised following a lung ailment, reported the Daily Times.

Hassan’s family has requested the nation to pray for his health, added the paper.
